For Me, For Us
For me,
now at age seventy-eight,
for my wife
now at age sixty-eight
both of whom may be considered...
actually both,
my wife and myself
are considered as "older".
For my wife and myself
"older" however
does not mean passionless,
older,
for we,
for my wife,
for me
for those…
those whom are not yet considered as "older'"
may wonder of "older" passion.
For now,
for we,
for my wife
for me
passion has a different meaning.
For now the sense of the warmth of my wife
for now the sense of the warmth of myself;
still closeness and touch are with us
though the sight and feel of her
though the sight and feel of me
still move our humanistic senses.
However the passion of now
may not mean the breathless,
sharp release of our yesterdays
but more so the ongoing sense of wonder,
more so the ongoing sense of being held
body to body, flesh to flesh
closely within the arms of one so dearly loved.
The need of fulfillment for the one loved,
the need of self-fulfillment still there
but in a softer sense,
for the physiological changes within
my wife
for the physiological changes within
myself
do not always allow for the
breathless, sharp release of our yesterdays
but always for the sense of wonder,
always for the ongoing sense of being held
warmly
body to body,
warmly
flesh to flesh.
closely within the arms of one so dearly loved.
