I have to wonder

can we bridge
the distance
the darkness,
fusing strands
of common soul?
Our touch...
hesitant,
soft,
too-careful.
Relief.
She is mine
though I have
yet to taste her flesh
in mutual
sacrificial
surrender.
I pretty much loved the whole piece until the last two words, which felt like a let down, but, again, perhaps I didn't get it. so much truth and emotion so well woven in throughout. a fine fine piece of writing!
