"Be Here Now," for...
several paces behind lurks the relentless past
that chooses to slither with poisonous tongue
ever hesitant to retreat
awaiting the moment to strike
several paces ahead
stands the mongoose of patience
ever saluting the tenacity of the lure
remonstrating life's gallant stride
enter time and space
the provider of measure
that perpetual start gate
keeping alive future challenges
and what of our present
where footsteps arch and hold before daring
today's razor edged macadam road
surrounded by bramble pillars of conceit
little wonder we suspend our flight of change
to somewhere anywhere
for who has not wished to linger
with their wink at the threatening shadows
and forestalled a projection to the future
where all is thought safe and warm
the footstep begins its descent
as we invite yet the next delusion
of time and space
past and future
that imagination provides us evaporative solace
"Be Here Now," for... all the obvious reasons
thought provoking read, well said
