Foreshadowing

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Awakening before first light with one’s fingers already moving, as if upon a computer’s keyboard, is unsettling at times, made calm only by stumbling to the computer for grounding.

Foreshadowing
by Odin Roark

Dodging The Eye by day
Awareness awaits temporary facades to retire
Day's entertainment but a test of Patience

Inevitably

As dusk draws near
horizons portend awakening
Reality's shadow lengthens
connecting East to West
comfort to precipice

Shortly

Shadowless light
bathes the Mind's workshop
Night's meditation begins
Waking Hour's masquerade
dons nakedness

Closing eyes

Release images once shaded
converging with cells of clarity
surging through heartened valves
flooding hesitant passions with courage
shuffling jigsaw pictures
into connected impressions

The Soul's lexicon of discovery takes shape
mini percussions become massive cymbals
Light's arrival awakening imagination
bursting forth renderings of yesterday's confusion
into today's DNA of inner peace
a resonance of quiet

The poems we all carry
need but the nocturnal light
to usher closed the eyelids of sanctuary
flowering child-innocent dreams
where pain finds solace
and pleasure gives thanks
nurturing silent words
into passages of discovery

Then

Smile's sudden awakening
announces Tomorrow's arrival
foreshadowing visions
for yet another night of Epiphany's light

I really like '"tumbling to the computer for grounding." "converging with cells of clarilty" is pretty wonderful, too. That you put forth 'massive cymbols,' as the culminating of shadowless light, right beside the nurturing silent words is a skillful shuffle of creative process I recognize with relish. Yes. ~~ DIana

You will have to get Dragon 12 so that those fingers won't be twitching as you wake up. ;-) However, you can let your imagination travel from east to west like the sun and bring back another Epiphany's light to this mortal coil.
