Lessons learned have their own timetables at times. Teaching’s closure can linger, be that of relationships, business, or personal study. But...this is that time of the year when good will and forgiveness, as well as joy and optimism deserve some time and effort. Wishing you a rewarding holiday and lesson filled 2013.

Eyelash of Mist
by Odin Roark
Freezing shackles
Now rusted chains
Once gripped a willing heart
Now forever scrap metal
A mere heap
But
There was a time
When destiny's preying Mantis
Patiently waited...
Until
Brandishing paralysis
On innocent finding
Its razor sharp cuts
Decorated crimson passion
Brought submissive smiles to frowns
Comedy to tragedy
Then unexpectedly
There came a day
Known little by rejection's malaise
When learned senses informed
Hard won immunities
To gently disarm
Disguised weapons of slavery
With compassion's embrace
Consider
Lessons learned
Warm one's frigid past
Defrosts harbored resentment
Melts clinging disappointment
Evaporates icy delusions
Removes persistent tears
Leaving behind
But an eyelash of mist
budd
