Making decisions for the heart begs more patience than is usually given. (photo by wandervogeldiary.wordpress.com)

Poem Artwork
A Messenger’s Whisper
by Odin Roark

Along love’s rugged shore
Forever roams the messenger
A plume from on high
Floating just above swell’s grasp

How often does it dip
Twirling its dance of ecstasy
Mesmerizing open minds
Arresting vulnerable hearts

Senses hold their reserve
As reason remains elusive
The gossamer-message reserved
Abiding awakening’s destined time

Seasons pass
Strained senses remain alert
As pinion’s envoy stays vigilant
Measuring passion’s longing

Having never abandoned shore’s edge
A certain sunrise appears
Where familiar foot-steady passage
Averted ebbs and tides unpredictable
Flotation’s direction unknown

One feels love’s gentle nature
Like a feather brushing
The cheek of patience
Smiling the nod of acceptance

And the smile of joy
Opens imagined wings to fly
Accepting the long awaited nod to love
To soar within the once enigmatic trust
Of a messenger’s whisper

I don't like the picture with this because the poem is as complex as love

A very delicate matter, this thing called love. It is all too likely that the messenger breathes life from our own wavering hopes and dreams. M.True

This made me sit back and think for a while.
First, I considered the vast differences between love and lust, and how often the two are confused. Then I reflected on past relationships and how very different each one was.
I concluded that the love that also has a deep rooted friendship, is the love most likely to survive the longest.

I can only gather that if love comes too fast it is easily lost, just infatuation. It is the love that comes softly over time that costs. But then I am as concerned as Jerry about overanalyzing love.

Beautiful worlds skillfully written. Wonderful!

If there really are 80 octaves between our range of hearing and the "voice of the universe" then Roark has surely listened to and tried to articulate most of the harmonics. He comes very close to making words into musical notes, verse into hymn.

I don't know. I get confused. Maybe we try to analyze love and other emotions until they are analyzed to death. It is what it is.
