New World Order Nightmare

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

With so many positing answers to the world’s pandemic of hate, many are left with but a Darwinian question: Is this evolutionary anomaly correctable?

Poem Artwork
New World Order Nightmare
by Odin Roark

Rivers of mirrors
flow endlessly from country to country
carving channels that once carried sun and moon
along with bended trees and sky shrouding innocent faces,
now but torment a demise beneath the rippling surface
where aches of sentient memories are left behind.

Like the winding track of the serpent,
the waters move shattered dreams about,
ever tactful in a twisted resolve
to reach the caldron ahead
and stir the poisons of Jihad.

Swirling waste of past genocides
converge with a black future's dream
where history’s repetitive war mongering
renders few new mistakes to open eyes
or ripple a reflection of life that might be.

So impotent our minds’ ocean
ushering innocent soul-laden tributaries
to hide beneath clinging garbage afloat,
where fractured skies reflect only broken shards
of sun and moon to illume residue’s swirling graveyards.

How permanent power’s corrupt principals,
sinking everything it its wake,
drowning humanity’s innocence beneath,
adding to the junk pile of hate’s forever corroding weaponry,
doG’s recyclable religiosobabble
making our species’ legacy
one of deft ignorance.

There certainly is a "swirling waste of past genocides." And they are continuing today, out of sight and out of mind. I don't think they are reaching apocalyptic proportions yet because I can't equate terroristic skirmishes of the kind we have over reported to be anything like the all-out world wars of the last century starting in 1900 and escalating 1914.

I fear, ole friend, that a frightening escalation of this madness is coming in 2016. I've read no less than 500 overseas articles in the last several weeks. Most believe World War 3 is beginning. The escalation in the Middle East is stunning. When the Ezekiel 38-39 war takes place in the very near future, the world will change forever. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Peace to you... rlc

You couldn't claim this episode in history as a step forward for the human race. This particular devolution looks like something out of the 10'th century. Where are the determined men? When will we put an end to this cancer? I hope we get our act together. If we don't then we all devolve. Thoughtful poem Odin. Bob
