Flowers That Never Open
by Odin Roark

There are flowers that stay in the corner,
that while craving for identity beyond,
succumb to the waning thirst
that seems their destiny.

Such flowers that never open
long to be caressed and cared for,
to be given a gentle touch,
hear a deep breath taking in their fragrance.

Perhaps�

Flowers that never open
are flowers that were a misread to be given,
by one who remains only in love with love,
having never experienced the sometimes
exhausting gift of attainment beyond infatuation?
