Aha Awakens


From where comes the aha,
The moment of clarity,
The split second company of epiphany?

So often we peer out
From our myriad base camps,
See little,
Turn our ears,
Hear but noise.

Aha waits patiently.

Even as our curiosity remembers
Tree-line's northern moss
Urging further ascent to higher plateaus,
Fragrance of crystalline air remains at the wait,
Understanding consciousness is winded,
Drawing on exhausted senses,
Seemingly void of spirit,
While languished trust
Continues its struggle
To remember innocence lost.

Aha knows well the journey.

Fate's untimely glacial fields
Give cause to cling tenaciously
To one's layered paralysis,
Wanting to discover,
But fearful of passion's temperature,
A shift in climatic mood
When weeping might begin its purge,
Thawing quickly the resistance,
Releasing sediments of pain and fear
Cascading across layers of record,
Creating escaping tributaries
To merge at lake's shore
Where Nature’s waves mingle old and new,
Regrets and glory,
Joy and sorrow,
Freedom's anvil inviting paradox be forged.

Vivid reflections alert one's aura.

Attention is finally paid.

Soaring eagles share strident cries.
Languid frogs croak their humorous jest.
One is dared to jump
As Sun's rays warm decisions,
Moon's glow bathes hesitance,
Readying the calm of wisdom.

Revelation offers its purity of breath,
Enabling a sudden exhale,
Cold's numbness condenses,
Evaporating into enigma,
Cacophonous voices of the quiet,
Life's precarious scale
Rights the balance.

Suddenly…

That rarity of rarities,
The tomorrows of yesterday,
The questions and answers,
All conjoin.

Cognizance comforts ignorance,
As beneficence bids one's heart
Remain open.

Such a rewarding moment
