Decay As Preparation
What conundrums are faced
in adopting Time’s density of entanglement—
The mother versus growing child,
like a trellis of unstoppable climbing vines—
The bully challenging innocents,
as a briar patch encroaches upon a flower—
The boss intimidating vulnerable workers,
forcing a psyche’s fragile harvest to succumb to power’s hailstorm—
The teacher luring sycophant students
like a peacock of incessant preening—
The lover versus suspected cheaters,
hoping to fend off the onslaught of pain—
The frugal husband versus greedy wife,
staving off a financial abyss waiting in the shadows—
The reliable wife versus irresponsible husband,
Akin to a slow bubbling to a boil—
The conscientious doctor versus belligerent patients,
Denial’s tug-of-war against knowledge—
The hospital versus cantankerous resistance,
trying but to comfort and support—
The funeral director confronting unpleasant family members,
all in the effort to calm the disruption of death—
The eulogist verses the unknown,
challenging the congregation’s aura of love and hate—
So goes one’s synaptic chaos decisively finding peace
as the cosmos envelops newly birthed dust reaching
skyward for the never ending continuance.
Love ya!
