How broken leadership’s moral compass,
its needle stuck in a directionless course.

Compassion wanes,
understanding struggles for purchase,
acceptance has abandoned ship,
history struggles for its memory.

Is humanity’s once rescuing empathy
becoming but a prisoner to gluttonous apathy?

yes, I do read it too. Methinks the mentioned here apathy answers the deliberate designs of elites in power. Just look at what the ordinary people eat and you will see the foundation of the problem (saying nothing of pollution and the likes). Unhealthy bodies lead to unhealthy consciousnesses. This piece is an everyday alert. Cheers, alex
