As an existentialist, the only Life Beyond is what others remember in the far distant future. Which will be remembered more, Pavarotti's high note or Kobe's high score? Only time will tell. For now, even the faintest whisper over a cell phone will be recorded somewhere for posterity and may or may not ring true in the mind of third century millennials. From our small platform, we do not know. From my perspective now, I know the name of the gladiator slave who rose up against the Roman Empire and its legions, Spartacus, but not the name of his fellow slave who worked his whole life for a citizen but was of no other consequence except to add to his owner's wealth.
