Freedom Confined

Can we ever experience too many wakeup calls? “In my opinion, there is no aspect of reality beyond the reach of the human mind.” Stephen Hawking - (Image by Najavi)

Freedom Confined

Millions confined at home
Awaiting freedom’s interval,
Know time will invite
Surroundings to relax,
Unlock the virus’s freezing shackles,
Free up movement again.

How easily we fault these cyclic forces,
Nature’s biology merely managing chronology,
Creating allowance,
Choice,
Necessity,
Faith,
Trust,
Awe.

Like circular motion that is endless,
The world of cell-existence will continue

Perpetuity without end.
You,
Me,
Air,
Water,
Earth,
Are merely its flux.

Control is not ours.

Like our blood flow,
Nature's momentum
Will be where it wants to be,

And often where it needs to be
In this ever changing infinity.

We are but students of life evolving.

Why is it…

,
Man often invents its own imprisonment
"I am the chosen one,"
Swathing himself a delusional security blanket,
An anomaly only servile ignorance adopts,
Clings to,
And unfortunately
Can be contagious.

The one contagion that we need to avoid: the power of ego-centricity. Perhaps this isolation will help us realize just how much we need others and need to defer to their needs and wishes.

All pointing to the eternal question: Is life but a temporary existence without meaning or purpose, or are all the obstacles, perturbances, and death traps merely confrontations on the perpetual road of experiences that condition the human spirit for a higher-order existence? I choose the latter mainly because I thoroughly dislike the former.
