Heart’s Way
A feeling whose origin was unknown
It was never with name
Nor do I remember how it came to be
I carried it in my breast pocket
Like a lost or spare button
Save it wasn’t a button
From rain-slicked streets
To
All night diners
Dim barrooms
Pool halls and lonely corners
It led an isolated existence
Like the echo of a dream
The storage key on a worn chain
And then it was gone
Nameless stops from city to city
As years passed in absent connection
Till a waft of clear air whispered
This is your stop
With no destination in sight
My heart ventured upon another empty platform
Where only the faint rumbles of the past filled the air
Yet in the distance…
Thankfully…
Finally...
A synchronal heart could be heard beating.
Love ya!
Jane
This is stunning! My best to both of you. Ed
