Mysterious Layers of Ascension

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

Consider that each day of one’s existence is an opportunity to plant a seed of creation, for as stated in Echosis, “We are all creative.” One only has to decide which of the infinite disciplines he or she will respect and honor with a modicum of effort. (Image by Marcel Caram)

Mysterious Layers of Ascension

Is it not Nature's light,
partner to the creative roots,
begetting shadows stretched forward
that represents our respite and nurturing
before disappearing beyond the horizon,

graduating to another day of illuminating blank-canvassed mirrors?

And, is it not the gray clouds of tearful honesty,

that partner with sprouting new buds
striving to secure dated truth,
even as its tenure brief,
its seasonal seed,
stem,
leaf,
branch,
stalk,
reaching upward,
outward,

provides landscape for light’s scintillating grin?

So too the artist's quest for abstract's cosmic truth,
the internal swallowing of life’s sensorial, often harsh, reality
knowing to nourish the deep-rooted layers beneath layers,
time must be allowed to manifest its purpose.

For in order to cultivate the fields of now,
knowing that tomorrow may bring drought,
an artist's consciousness must drink to its roots
where heart and mind's osmosis invents.

Layers of ascension must trust,

as Nature is patient,

knowing the harvest awaits to echo forth its bountiful extensions of countenance
only when shadows are honored as shaded reflection,
when wisdom shrouded in protection is allowed to reveal its gentle epiphany.

Finally…

To age,
is to reflect on one’s own shadows once more,
remembering love's perpetual blossom awaits tomorrows embrace of more seedlings,
just as it anticipates the future’s harvest of creation's emergent plantings yet to be born.

How much later might one’s creation become another mysterious layer of ascension

unraveling into infinity’s garden of new unknowns.

Among others, I especially like your line "an artists consciousness must drink to its roots where heart and mind's osmosis invents." That to me really sums up the incipient creative process in a nutshell. Excellent.
