Destiny

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

- Many argue that we have no free will, that we are the result of fate, of destiny, of that which we have no control over. Some say one might have a predisposition, but ultimately, we make of reality what we are willing to sacrifice for truth. (Image by pinterest)

Destiny

Where is this place
some say is all you are
all you can be
where the heart flows of blood
both yours and mine
where children and the aged seem one?

Why is destiny with us always
yet elusively
unseen
unheard
untouched
pending our ready
enduring our will?

How is this state of being
to show itself
when sadness clouds vision
joy seems unearned
glory of the now drifts out of reach?

When will this karma
reveal
become
be known
as nature wishes?

There is a writing on the wall
most long to see
that realm where love
asks not of another
but lives only to be

a breath of truism

I feel too few in our world today ask the questions your have poetically ask in "Destiny."

Insightful and thought provoking poetry which gives me hope.

This strikes a real chord - The writing is most certainly on the wall...
To see the full picture of anything, we must always read between the lines, or be forever blinkered by "cover" stories.

I really like the subject matter. It is one of my favorite themes…those two middle stanzas are the big echo chamber for me, too = “/glory of the now drifts out of reach?/“ is a pertinent way of stating this perplexity. ~~ djl
