Man’s Darkside Epidemic

Might Humankind be under an onslaught of darkness

Where minds and hearts

Are creating an abyss of lies, dread, and ultimately

Taking away life?

Echoes of buried fears,

Like specters in the night,
 Vibrate their chaos of resentment loudly

From the corners where they sleep,

Greed, a ravenous beast,
Consuming all in its path,
Leaves desolation in its wake,
A testament to its wrath.

Anger, a fire uncontained,
Burns with a fierce, wild flame,
Scorching synaptic bridges, searing hearts,
Leaving nothing quite the same.

Jealousy, a serpent’s hiss,
Coils around the inner spirit,
Squeezing out the light within,
Leaving only a hollow hole of suffocation.

Yet…

In this morose domination,
An unexpected truth is often found,
For shadows cannot exist,
Without light to cast them down.

In acknowledging loss of reason,
We find the strength to fight,
To rise above shadows of psychoses,
And step into the light.
