Fleeting Moments

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

To pause in our Fastlane lives and regard the flashes of transient impressions from touch, taste, smell, images and sounds we come across, often at the most unexpected times, is to better understand the value of meditation’s gift.

Poem Artwork

 Fleeting Moments

To dance between past and present

Is to embrace fleeting moments that

Float quietly through pages

Of poignant musings

Offering a glimpse into the

Vast aura of dimensions

Carried by time’s passage.

Still…

Such ephemeral whispers

Plead to be cherished

For the nature of such moments

Is to be of brief actuality

Moving onto other custodians of treasures.

To discover the extraordinary among the ordinary

Is to liken love as the arbiter between chaos and peace

To allow what might seem incidental

To become essential.

So goes the touch of grace as a soothing balm

Guiding newly discovered words into lyrical impressions

Of everyday moments

Allowing the courage of trust

To embrace the you that is ever deserving of

Fleeting moments

Lasting memories

“ To discover the extraordinary among the ordinary
Is to liken love as the arbiter between chaos and peace”Those two lines furrowed my brow in the effort to decipher them. Without the two sequent lines, I may never have arrived at interpreting them in the fashion I did: seeing opposites pointing back at one another. I loved casting my rubber band neuronet into the ocean of your thoughts, Odin. Thank you ~~ djl

Wow! This is a stunning revelation of what happens when talent, and insight, and brilliance come together in perfect harmony.

Our fast lane lives are a problem, leaving us with fleeting moments. Perhaps they’re only fleeting if you allow yourself to forget the underlining truth. Lasting memories are key.

Your poem brought back thoughts of fleeting moments that brought great joy or a great pain. And finding that even that great pain could be healed over time to become something positive.

In all the opportunities afforded me both in reality and in dreams that were singular and never experienced by anyone else. Like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates.

"Fleeting moments" that thru memory, writing, poetry and other forms of expression may pass from generation to generation down into the future of "Lasting moments."
