Blade Shadows Blooming

by Odin odin@aflx.com — Read all 3,869 poems by Odin odin@aflx.com

There are those who believe man is inherently evil, but to accept that is to never see that even were it true , history shows that for every negative experience, once it’s burned itself out, a new growth of goodness takes its turn, tomorrow’s blades in disguise.—[[[[[[ (Image by Odin AI)

 Blade Shadows Blooming

The ground scrolls beneath our feet,
all of us bent-neck brightened by blue light,
information leaking like a wound’s slow drip.
The air hums with notifications and sirens,
a swarm of mechanical wasps staging an attack in unison

rehearsing disaster while we learn again how to duck,
how to move without touching,
how to recognize danger by its shadow
before it ever makes a sound.

What used to be rivers are now channels,
what used to be hands are now tools.

A blade sleeps inside the circuitry,
not steel, not myth, but intent,
compressed, coded, waiting.
We carry it like a second pulse,
a hunger disguised as efficiency,
a preparedness stitched into our syntax like a hidden seam.

The present chaos burns hot and fast,
a bonfire of headlines crackling with static and frayed nerves,
faces sharp with feedback, streets vibrating with anger.
Ash coats trust llike rust on forgotten gears,
language, memory, trust,
until even the loudest rage collapses inward,
starved of oxygen,
leaving only smoke and the illusion of quiet.

But nothing ends.

The heat seeps into the soil.
In the closed bloom beneath us,
new embers curling into fists underground,
unseen, patient, rehearsing shape.
They wait for the next clean morning,

The sharp blades of breaking news for 8 billion people worldwide amount to about five or six a day. While they flash on our screens and repeat over and over for at least 24 hours before becoming old news, they are but a minuscule of what good is going on in the background that is not news…just ordinary life doing what it always does…helping one another end keeping low-key and not confrontational.

Such is life. But modern communication is primary the cause of our distrust of the good in all of us.

Evil can be a devastatingly grotesque force in human beings, but love can be an even greater force. Both of them are chosen, and are put into motion by intentional activity. As to better days coming as you intimate: time will reveal that to all of us. It's stunning, exhilarating, and frightening, how much Biblical prophecy is happening now in real time. I won't belabor this. I'll say this though, that through it all, our responsibility is to hold on, stay hopeful, and keep moving forward. Enjoyed the images. Thanks. rlc
