Anticipation
As I sit here in the quiet of my day
Alone except for thoughts of you
Savoring that expectant sideways glance
Knowing where I belong
And what will follow soon.
Pent up emotions wanting to escape
Enveloping me in gossamer charms
Each woven with tendril care
Yet probing for that perfect spot
Where love plays hide and seek;
Always carrying mystic pheromones
That trap and intoxicate so well
Leaving me as helpless as
A stray puppy seeking warmth.
Your gentle hand touches my face
Sending tingling vibrations through me;
With each surge a new cause
With each cause a new effect
As passions build.
Logic and reason give way
As molecular collisions take charge
Unleashing a chain reaction
Coursing from my brain to
All parts downward
Pausing only for intermittent explosions
That awaken all cells
Arousing sleeping sentinels
That safeguard the memories
Of our love.

Sorry, just couldn't help myself, Edward. Your poem is delicious upon the tongue of my whole being. Such beautiful words, phrases. I have read it three times. You are good, man!
