OMG, run for the hills! Here come the armchair psychologists with tar and feathers.

Poem Artwork

Roses are Red

Words of love
Words of hope
Words of desires
All wrapped in a neat package
And sent smothered in chocolates
And tied up with a rose or two—
It seems like such a silly way
To attract a hug and kiss
From a pretty young miss
When what you really want
Are a lick and a promise
That you are on track to
The Grand Prize.

I could be wrong.

I have to hand it to you for your courage in choosing that title for your poem. As well as your astute observation that it isn't just a Valentine's Day kiss, chocolate or not that the average Joe is hoping to get from the average Jill.

Just hoping some lady will tie me up, smother me in chocolate, then start the licking and so forth, heck, time to wake myself up now!

You stodge, you! I'd give you a rose or two for friendship. We'd have to see what transpires afterward...

At our house, Valentine's day is Feb. 15. That's when the candy goes on sale for half price. I'm a true but cheap romantic.

I have never been in agreement with the way Valentines have been so that men are demanded to buy roses to incite affection.

I don't think so. I think you are very right. John
