Poem Artwork

In My Reverie

I see you standing there
With moonlight in your hair
A moment we can share
In my reverie.

It’s when I realize
Love’s deep rewarding prize
That I can but surmise
Is in my reverie.

The more I think of you
And all that we could do
The old the tried the true
We cannot compromise.

They’re only partly real
These feelings that I feel
Approaching the ideal
No heartaches to disguise.

In my solitude
I get to choose my mood
A moment’s interlude
Waiting there for me.

When love is lost
And loneliness abides
Serenity decides
Who’s in my reverie.

Your poem proves that it takes two to tango. There's nothing like a good woman to give a man reverie. I'll drink to that!

Truly poetry with which I can relate, Edward; lovely flow (rhyme and rhythm) as well. Very nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,

Regis

A charming poem, full of rigor and discipline in its rhythms and rhymes. Everything seems understated, expressing so much more.
