A tale of the ages, for all ages

Poem Artwork

The Shape of Things to Come

An accidental encounter one day in the
Summer of our Discontent
And there you were
Tall tan supple
Long of limb sharp of mind
And quick of wit.
I was spellbound by your smile
Had you just stepped out of a dream?

Did you appear only to arouse
My soul to sting my heart
And to light an eternal flame?
Unanswered questions that jab
My curiosity
Push me to find answers
To when if and how the puzzle
Might be completed.

I don’t like the tale of two ships
Passing silently in the night
I prefer to reach for the dream
To taste the fruit of passion
To run where the brave dare not go.

Might we join hands
Bodies and souls
Look at each other and say
“Let’s throw caution to the wind
And just go for it!?”

Some of us are dreamers, and some of us aren't. But if this tale has been created by your imagination, then you are one of the dreamers. Welcome to the club.

So beautiful!!! Yes, I would go for it, even in a dream. Life is full of wonders if we allow our passion and fantasy to be free.

What you describe is the "stuff of dreams" that have little to do with reality; but so what. There are still dreams that may.

Do not stop and think about it, my friend. Put your teeth into it and allow passionate blood brought on by love to take care of the situation!

You write of things I wished for, but never came to pass. Romantic and passionate, but did it last?

Beautifully said...ah...I mean written.
I spend way too much of my time wishing upon stars.
But without dreams...how can we ever hope to touch the creator and completion of our longings?
Keep wriitng.
Go for it:)

I think you answered your own question. Just go for it, again and again.
