Lucky Man

There’s a man in the moon and he’s smiling down at me,

Changing all my favorite dreams to reality,

There’s a star up above, that’s sending me your love,

And I’m a lucky man,

There’s a field in the distance, filled with honeysuckle vine,

A big bright sun that just shines down all the time,

How I got this lucky I will never understand,

But I’m a lucky man,

‘Cause there’s a warm kind of feeling that encapsulates my heart,

A strange kind of loneliness whenever we’re apart,

That makes me want to get back home as quickly as I can,

‘Cause I’m a lucky man,

Now if you’re wondering do I worship? Yes I do make no mistake,

The very ground you walk on, every single breath you take,

And I thank the lord he sent you, ‘cause you make me what I am,

And I’m a lucky man,

Now I never have much money, no sir I don’t own a thing,

My wealth is in the love you show and this old wedding ring,

But I’m richer than an Emperor or the Sultan of Siam,

‘Cause I’m a lucky man,

Well I may have mentioned this before, I’m sorry if that’s so,

But I love you and you love me, I want the world to know,

So I’ll shout it from the highest roof form here to Kazakhstan,

That I’m a lucky man,

And there’s a man in the moon that keeps smiling down at me,

Changing all my favorite dreams to reality,

There’s a star up above, that’s sending me your love,

And…I’m…A…Lucky…Man.

...and she's a lucky girl!
This is going to sound like a broken record (excuse the pun) but I agree with the others. This should be turned into lyrics. What an incredible song it would be....certainly one that I'd be humming along to. I can only dream...

I love it! Beautiful sentiments, great rhythm, just a marvelous love poem. And as CJ said, it could be a song; it just seems to have that catchy uplifting sound!
Excellent work!

Steve, this is wonderful, filled with love and written with a passion and such conviction. Who could resist? This poem is so beautiful -- it could so easily be a love song.
Love and respect,
