"To be or not to be?" - Shakespeare
How to be is what really matters.
In this discourse is the answer.
4-H States of Being components of
a self-actualizing person are: Health,
Hope, Happiness and Heaven.
Health is a person's most important
possession. Much too often a person does
not realize how valuable health is until
he/she has failing health or more correctly,
chronic sickness. Health is more important
than wealth or money Take care of your
self - your health.
Hope is the conviction that what is desired will
become a reality. Let a friend seemingly be
expired, and let a physician enter the room and
after checking the friend's vital signs say,
"There's hope." O how the heart of the greving
friend jump for joy; he walks with a lightness,
for here is hope. Hope means that it is not
over, even though it is dark for a night joy
comes in the morning.
Happiness is the ultimate good to be
achieved in living. In a certain way our efforts
and pursuits, even when we toil, persevere
and sacrifice, are endeavors in search for
happiness. Ultimately and practically it is,
"happiness through consciousness."
Heaven is a state of spiritual consciousness.
It is not merely afterlife or after mortal life.
It is eternity, existence in the eternal now and
eternal forever. During creation God created
heaven and earth. Heaven on earth need
not be simply a meaningless saying. Heaven
can be both a present and future reality.
Choosing as a lifestyle the "4-H States of Being
program produces self-actualization and full life -
life in all its fullness.
I have been long aware of self-actualization and it usually takes a lifetime to achieve it. I like your description of heaven as something in the "eternal now," rather than after we have died, somehow making this life in some ways, miserable, rather than the best we can make it.
The self-actualized person generally views his/her life as the best that it can be. They worked for it and it came to pass. They did not do all of the wrong things, hoping, in the end heaven would be there for them. Some call it wisdom. Whatever it is, self-actualization certainly brings peace of mind, even in trying times like this.
