I used to write love poems …
dramatic pieces filled with equal parts
angst and romance.
Those stanzas fail me now
and no longer do they compel my
fingers’ ritual dance
upon the keyboard …

and passions that compose

It is simply that I live
the love poems I once wrote;
a love affair shared
with the man I wed.
