THE BATTLE RAGES


People of God, armor up the battle is on
The arrows of the unholy are unleashed on the Son

The kings of the earth, have taken their stand
Against His Christ from the unbridled man

Freedom is freedom if the standard is held
The standard, the Word, has silently been feld

No right, no wrong, their consciences seared
You being Christ’s become the brunt of their jeers

They think, if I believe what I know, it will come at a cost
I must stop from this sin, and confront that I’m lost

It is in my heart to know there is God
If I deny He exists I may escape His cruel rod

I’ll bewilder His followers and cause them great storm
I’ll work in society to make evil the norm

God says: beware ole man you are a fool
He’s coming to pay you, that is the rule

He who sits in the heavens laughs
In His children on earth, He is the thorn in their paths

You fool, you fool, soon you will see
Soon does mean soon, and from Him you can’t flee

He’ll come to pay you as a thief in the night
Your cohorts the devils will take you in fright

Kicking won’t help, screaming won’t do
Even the devils will call you fool too

They know as do you the existence of God
They know, as do you, on His own you shan’t trod

People of God, Arm up the battle is on
Help them to find Him, before they’re all gone

He has caused you to be a fisher of men
Gird up; Gird up, pray them all back again

We were once defiant and fugitives from God
Till somebody prayed, and spared us His rod

His rod and His staff comfort and direct
Hell bound and wayward, we are now His elect

He did it for you; He’ll do it for them
He loves us all, even the worst of these men

Time is so short, and salvation so nigh
Help in the field; please don’t just stand by

The hole in heaven will be filled one great day
By the throngs of the wayward, who were understood to say

Jesus forgive me, I just didn’t know
My hatred of you and your children was so

I mocked you and them, for all their beliefs
Please forgive me dear Lord, and wash away all my griefs

Thank you for believers, who didn’t give up
When we spurned them and mocked them for drinking your cup

Now make me as one of these men
Now I’ll suit up for battle, Amen
