My love for you is always near
Despite life’s bitter storms
The bond we share is held so dear
It takes on many forms
I find peace when I look at you
I see how much you’ve grown
Some days may seem so tough; that’s true
But, you’re never alone
I’ll see your heart, your smile and grace
Each day that I’m allowed
No time or stress could e’er replace
The fact you make me proud
I sometimes wish that I could feel
Your wisdom and your strength
But, you help me to keep things real
With faith there at arm’s length
Your birthday is a special time
In more ways than you know
We may have had our hills to climb
But, I do love you so
I look at you and I see hope
A future, warm and bright
Far from a demon’s slippery slope
Where everything’s alright
