I started this journey with mountains to climb
Each step seemed enormous and steep
Determined to heal and return to my prime
I made a promise I will keep
No more will this burden steal my sense of peace
No more will my fear steer me wrong
My inspired mindset will grant me release
While my faith keeps my heart feeling strong

My life holds such purpose; a true sense of worth
Much greater than demons abound
Each day that I live, I will better this earth
My gifts keep my feet on the ground
This journey began with mighty peaks to scale
But, each day I am trudging ahead
My devotion will never allow me to fail
By God’s compass, my future is led

I started this journey, oft rocky and rough
With one certain goal in my mind:
To reclaim my life and admit I am tough
I’ll never again be so blind
My rise to the summit may be far from done
But, I will continue to climb
So that one day I’ll know that I’ve conquered and won
By taking one day at a time
