It's Worrying Time!
Perhaps if I worry
A little bit more,
The world will stop heating,
There'll be no more war;
I'm amazed that my efforts
Have garnered no gain,
I'm sure that my fears
Were plugged into my brain;
What could I be missing?
What more can I do?
I'm sure that I thought up
A virus or two;
There's a tap
At my window,
An intruder no doubt!
Or perhaps just the wind
On its regular route?
Do I dare let its music
Intrude on the din
Of the band of disaster
That I've welcomed in;
That change of attention
Has shaken me out
Of a perfectly upsetting
Worrying bout!

All of us poets need to write all we can to rail against the injustice happening to our planet and all of us who share it so precariously. While great civilizations have failed in the past, world war has raged and healed a bit in the last century, this is the first time, that the entire world civilization and ecosystem is threatened by our own excess.
But remember, when you hear a tap on the window, it may be someone in great need and we should, at least, look and see who is at the window rather than not looking like we do when we pass so many ills and fail to see them or do anything about them in our own backyard.
