The warmth of kindness is the insulation that truly makes a house a home.

Home

Home is where you
Hang your hat,
Your hope, your heart,
Your memories;
The love within ,
Your cookie tin,
A well-worn mat
That welcomes in.

The comfy bed,
That soothes your head,
Fresh baked muffins,
Calorie free!
And laughter,
In an atmosphere
Where you can breathe;
That’s judgement free.

We build our houses
Snug and strong
With wood and mortar
Brick and stone;
But when all is truly
said and done,
It’s acts of kindness
That grace our walls,
warm our hearts,
And make our house
A home.

You got that right! While I'm taking a trip this weekend, I'm basically homebound these days by age and disability.

However, thanks to a partner/caregiver, my home is as comfy and warm as can be with lots of love making it even more comfortable to stay in day after day and compose whatever writing I want to in retirement.

I wish everyone had a home like you describe in your poem and the free time to write poetry and enjoy life and it's very essence.

Indeed, home is where the heart is, lovely sentiments in today's harsh world.
