All hopes of a romantic love
Have greatly passed me by
As now I’m too old and fat
(and nobody desires that)
So that’s the reason why
When I was in my youth
I saw no need for romance
But now as I have gotten old
I’d love to have a chance
As so there is no passion
Or be there any desire
For such a love to be
Or set my heart afire
I will die and never know
This love I often see
That is only in the movies
And will never happen to me
So all that’s left are my lonely dreams
That holds a love so dear
But once I awaken
He, too, will disappear
And I will go about my day
Lonely to the core
Knowing love will never come
And I will dream no more.
Well done,
Michael
