You are worth  more to God than many lice-bitten sparrows...  

But Jed is a silly guy who sits in the back pew and could care less.

And less is usually what he gets out of a sermon.

His soul is hardly pricked by spirit piercing arrows.

So he stands with his back against the wall,

He levels two fingers from his right hand across his left arm -

only in jest, pretending to give the pastor both barrels.
