If you were still here I would tell you I found a tuft of your hair Hiding in the back corner of your vanity drawer. Almost like you placed it there, these twenty-some years ago, in secret, as a memento. As if I needed a reminder of our life together. No, I'll never forget, never! Every so often I'll come across a reminder, clothing, maybe a recipe chicken-scratched on an old note pad... This is just another token. "Hey, did I tell you, I found a tuft of your hair...

I can identify with your poem Bob. My first wife died of cancer and all the family had tufts of her hair that she had cut before she went bald. After over 30 years, I still have it in an engraved urn in our china cabinet. It was a way to keep her on our minds and in our hearts and something to honor her memory.
But the best memory of her is my two daughters who both went on to have families. My oldest granddaughter is named after her. She is one special young lady. These are treasures that money cannot buy.
God bless you and your family...
