Our Struggle

by Diane C Hundertmark — Read all 30 poems by Diane C Hundertmark

Thoughts or a wish for all mankind.
From the date you can see it is one more from a notebook and I did not write the date clear.

 It is not Man's nature to give up.

We must struggle,

 we must strive,

and fight we must.

Man will not easily succumb,

 not willingly to any that oppose him;

whether nature, animal,

or our fellow man.

No matter how violent it may be,

It is ours, and we can only hope

that time changes us,

 and time we do not change.

It is said that we shape our own future. I certainly hope your prediction does not come true and we come to our senses before destroying ourselves in the process.

We still head into the unknown. Sometimes bravely, sometimes not.

yes, time is out of our control -- it is the only phenomenon which is out of man's power. is it good or not? I can imagine a situation when establishment would sell the earthly time out to fellow men, aliens, plants, and many other critters. . . Enjoyed this piece. Cheers, alex

Some heavy duty thinking inside the lines of this one. I like that.
