so easy

by Diane C Hundertmark — Read all 30 poems by Diane C Hundertmark

I've gotten brave this month or maybe just nostalgic. Found this as I have others in a box of High School notes. In any case comments welcome.

                          so easy
                              by
              Diane C. Hundertmark

it was so easy to say
               i love you
so easy to say
               i care
it was so hard
               to truly love
it was so easy to say
               i need you
so hard to mean anything more
because i was afraid of loving
afraid of the hurt of caring
               then you made it
so easy to say
               i love you
so easy to say
               i care
so easy to say
               i need you
and mean so very much more
you came
               you loved
                               you cared
and i was afraid no more

I agree - this would make a wonderful song, true heart and emotion involved - thanks for sharing!

Excellent! Simple, but to the point. It's always (most of the time) good to bring past works out. They can make us remember the feelings that brought forth the work in the first place.

on "it was so hard" you need a separator... cuz the entire tense/tone/reason of the poem changes right there for a second... maybe "but..." or take it out and shove it at the end
