Old Love, Precious Love
By - Myra Wexler Darwish
Our love has been embraced
By time’s unwavering hours,
Caressing us with moments
Where joy has known its power.
For it is only love
That can pierce the veil of time,
And in its sublime transcendence
Touch the hands of fate divine.
The long, dusty roads we walked on
In our youthful, earlier days,
Helped us form the tributaries
For our loving, caring ways.
We worked just like the artists,
Sculpting new and varied forms.
With hands and hearts together,
Creativity was the norm.
Our memories now surround us,
Our loving ripples have grown.
As we gaze together at our work,
And the love that we have known.
Though the road ahead has been shortened,
And the dust long swept away,
We celebrate the life that we have made
And find joy in every day.
