“WE ARE GOLDEN”

(Written in honor of our fiftieth anniversary celebration in 2011)

A smile

A spark

Two lives

One heart

LOVING - SEEDING - UNITING

Children are born

One girl, two boys

Opening our hearts to the purest of joy

BUILDING - GROWING - STRENGTHENING

Busy school years, lessons learned

Pride in all the accomplishments earned

Children launched with our hopes and dreams

Roots are much deeper than they seem

ADAPTING - RESTRUCTURING - THRIVING

Son and daughter-in-laws arrive

Bringing their gifts

Re-patterning our lives

ADVANCING - DIVERSIFYING - EMBRACING

Precious grandchildren are being born

Enveloping our hearts

Like a warm misty morn

ADORING - LAUGHING - LEARNING

Same smiles

Same sparks

Enduring love

Many more hearts

APPRECIATING - CHERISHING - TREASURING

A wonderful tribute to the institution of marriage and of the fruits that it bears. We are not all as fortunate to have 55 year spans in a single relationship. Congratulations, and congratulations for such a wonderful poem.
