Oneness

by Myra Wexler Darwish — Read all 62 poems by Myra Wexler Darwish

Oneness speaks to our sacred connection to Nature, which was captured by a visit to Muir Woods. The redwoods are incomparable in their beauty and majesty.

ONENESS

By, Myra Wexler Darwish

The breeze had stilled,

As I gazed upward toward the sky.

The warm sun flickered

Through the redwoods’ upper canopy.

I wasn’t alone then;

It would have been impossible to be solitary…

For in the wonderment of it all,

Time vanished, no longer needing to exist.

When the ego disappears,

We can surrender to Nature’s loving embrace.

Being separate is no longer needed,

Oneness becomes our truth.

There is nothing more inspiring. I recall sleeping one night in a turnout along the Avenue of the Giants. I awoke in the morning to the magic cathedral like nature of the place. Everyone should experience that at least once.

"When the ego disappears," Yes.... that's the key to many things, Myra. Lovely imagery. An evocative message. Enjoyed. Peace... r

Very obstute observation, my friend. When the feelings you have written about capture us, we understand clearly that indeed, "Oneness becomes our truth." I loved this.
