You Are Not Alone

by Myra Wexler Darwish — Read all 62 poems by Myra Wexler Darwish

"My latest poem, You Are Not Alone, shares the essence of feeling deeply connected to the world and its mysteries. There is great strength in knowing that as humans, sometimes a simple breeze can tell us exactly what we need to know." MWD

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

By, Myra Wexler Darwish

I stood tall, gazing up at the light shining through the trees

Waiting for a sunbeam to perhaps reach my shoulder,

But only a small amount penetrated the canopy

I wanted to be touched by the magic of nature

And soon realized that it wouldn’t be the Sun’s warmth

That would connect me to something greater than I

It was the wind gently blowing through the trees, whispering…

”You are not alone, you never were, and never will be.”

The Voice reached my soul, where its wisdom will forever remain.
