A Poetic Review ...

Poem Artwork

Burnaby Village is where this book’s set

In modern Ireland, where I’ve not been yet,

But go I will after reading this spin

Of strong Irish girls and books that are in …

Molly Harper runs the book-haunt that’s there,

Her best friend Paige is the councilor fair,

And their friend Kate owns Dublin Dummy Dates

(She dates poor Angus, whose bluntness she hates).

Then come the men, each a bit of a ham:

Three real Prince Charmings -- Angus, Tom and Sam.

So although these bright girls have their hassles,

Their men help, teach, and even build castles!

The Irish talk is subtly charming –

“Will we,” “my pet,” no, nothing alarming –

No American curses over naught,

Or dark undertones that make readers fraught.

Though wine flows readily in this trite spin --

More than it would by an American --

The plot is quick, each character, a frien,’

Sharing their coffee in Coffee Heaven.

So now I’ll close this poetic review

Of Sarah Webb’s book It Had to be You,

From an American, staunch point of view!

Hi Lauren Bear! :)

You were my muse that started me back writing, so credit goes to you! Yes, Sarah Webb is the author I was writing with -- our project is on temporary hiatus as her publishers have asked her for a couple more adult novels before Christmas.

Love Ya :)

Sara:

This is the girl you wrote with correct? Where is this book available? And where can I access the stuff you guys wrote together that made the Anthology?

Your work has developed wonderfully over the past few years...I'm glad to see you've stuck with it! You're an inspiration to us all!
