I wrote this piece after considering how easy it to confuse lust with love, when one feels their life is empty of true intimacy. Not that I've ever succumbed to that illusion...LOL

I lay awake and wonder
at this feeling deep inside
could it be love has awakened
and my heart's been opened wide?

What had been a brief encounter
passions overflowed in bed
has turned into something stronger
no longer lust, but love instead

Each night my dreams are different
although one thing stays the same
my hands longing for your body
my lips whispering your name

In a recent dream I held you
you felt the love in my caress
your lips were moist against my cheek
as I slowly removed your dress

Then upon the bed I laid you
strewn with lavender & rose
I began kissing you softly
From your head down to your toes

Can you feel my touch so tender?
Passion builds and then ignites
I can see the love we’re making
'cause I’ve left on all the lights

We move together in slow motion
I am locked between your thighs
Our lips feed hungrily on kisses
As love is spoken with our eyes

It is then my mind awakens
To reality so it seems
Then all day I long for slumber
So I can love you in my dreams
