In the Golden Frame
I gaze in thoughts too deep
At the scene chosen to keep;
Memory, weakened by time and distance
Still returns me to that momentary chance
When the sun, placed just right
Framed you in a soft and loving light.
There was a joy in your eyes,
A love of life without disguise
For then your heart was lightly filled
With a happiness that could never be stilled,
There, that moment in your garden,
With your baby and the fruit of your own heaven…
The grass at your feet is a carpet of green;
The sparkle in your eyes the brightest I had seen.
One hand rests gentle upon the spaniel, with love,
The other holds the fruit grown by you, and the sun above.
The shine off your skin, from an inner glow, not heat,
Emanates the happiness of a satisfied heart’s beat…
When the clouds roll by, as they will do;
When the moments come when I think of you,
I am able to remember not just the sad ending journey,
But the joyful scene of so many bright memories,
As I gaze into the scene within the golden frame
And recall the moment in the sun from which it came.

A wonderfully written and deeply moving poem for your Love, and the memories you have of her are as gold as the frame that holds her picture. God blessed you always!
