saying "goodbye" never ends, but echoes though our hearts, off of the walls of our memories...
The bells toll for 2:30 Echoing in my journeying soul; My pants knees are still dirty, From kneeling beside your burial hole.
Goodbye my heart... It is our time to part... Goodbye my future... This hurt I must now endure.
It is not right; the sky so blue; Those birds shouldn't sing so loud. Only damp blackness covers you, So, now, that is all I am allowed.
Goodbye my life's light... You're blocked by a lid of pine, Goodbye to where we set our sight, For "we" is now me and "our" is no longer mine
The dirt has dried and grass has grown My knees still carry the old stain Sky ever changing, birds come and go Still the shadow of an empty light remains
Goodbye, sweet angel Know that you are not alone For beside you in your shallow well My heart still warms you in your eternal home.
Grass is growing on Tom's grave, now, sad but true. I go everyday still to sit with him and be near his spirit abiding in me. He is an angel and not alone up there either. Eternal life for him is before mine, not jealous, just glad he is at peace too. I say goodbye to me heart, my future with you, and I must now endure without my Tom. We are in a club we don't want to belong. It's lonely, sad at times, but life must go on for us. Spendid words put to poetry and coming straight at my heart too.
