The Woods Where We Lay

A symphony of naked trees
That's what this place is now
In the hollowed green that held our sighs
A distant dog does howl

Only the brave would venture here
Where love was strong and whole
In sadness lingers memories
A haunting of the soul

I will not go there, will not look
With heart nor with my eyes
That place is dark, turn me away
To blue and sunny skies
