Images
For those experiencing mid-life crisis
I look into the mirror
And see my graying hair.
I look into my youthful soul
And see a young man there.
The images are not the same
It breaks my heart to know
The one who's in the mirror
Is the only one to show.
Most folks just don't understand
That some of us remain
A childlike spirit trapped inside
A forty year old brain.
If they could feel the thoughts I have
Or know the joy and fun
There is in childish frolicking..
Oh, how my soul can run.
I haven't changed in twenty years..
I wish they all could see
The innocent and boisterous child
Who lives inside of me.
A bouquet of sublime emotions poemized to depict the wise face of a sage soul... "Images" is poetized with the lexis of a Master of the Verb.
