Perched on a ledge a thousand feet high
A man pondered life and watched the birds fly.
Suddenly a voice boomed from above.
It spoke of faith, blind trust and love.
The voice told the man to believe in the WORD
Because if he did he could fly like the bird.
The man was afraid, his mind said no.
But the voice insisted, “Don’t ask, just go!”
“Weren’t you taught about GOD?” the mystery voice said.
“Is that who you are? Is this all in my head?”
A lightening bolt struck and thunder roared.
“I must be honored, obeyed and adored.
“Now jump from this ledge. Do as I say.
You will be safe if you believe and pray.”
So the man was convinced and flew like a bird.
Then the voice roared with laughter and said, “That’s absurd.”
The falling man pleaded and screamed as he fell
He thought about Heaven and he thought about Hell.
Then it was over in the blink of an eye.
Even with faith, a man cannot fly.
The moral is simple, believe in not much.
In what you can see and what you can touch.
Those who would “TEACH” you and show you the “RULES”
Are nothing but Charlatans who think we’re all fools.
In case there’s a doubt, when you tithe, who will keepeth
They’ll say it’s for GOD, have some faith… Just leapeth.
Remember the man on the ledge in this tale
