You lie there with a peaceful smile
Raising the corners of your mouth.
Your eyelids flutter slowly
As your eyes move silently beneath them.
You may be returning from a journey
To "Dreamland".. I hope so..
The breeze you feel touching your hair
Is the breath of your guardian spirit.
Keeping you safe during the peaceful
Transition from sleep to consciousness.
Such beauty and serenity surrounds you.
The covers caress you gently
As you turn slightly toward
The warmth of the morning sun.
Your eyes flutter and open slightly
Squinting at the brightness of the day.
Stretching, you begin to realize
That another day has dawned
Promising new joy and friendships
And relationships to fuel
The soul's endless search
For enlightenment and
Total consciousness....
More fuel for another trip
To "Dreamland" tonight
And tomorrow night
And every night to come
Forever and ever...
