When your final choir begins its sweet song
will false praise reign or sincere accolades?
Will virtue shine through as the sun? Will strong,
stone walls guard your spirit as palisades?

Will your path be as deep as stones carved by
wind and water and time? Or dissipate
as the trail left by a vessel? You’ll lie,
Exposed for all to see. They’ll meditate.

Will they remember kindnesses you showed?
Will they remember pain you inflicted?
or your heart of pure gold which always glowed
brightly? Will Heaven wait as predicted?

These should be considered while you’re still here.
These should make life’s true path completely clear.
