Once upon a night so clear

I sat upon my easy chair

I prayed and prayed for love so true

Then God he sent a man like you

I sat and thought all through the night

How things sometimes just turn out right

For every time I look at you

I know in fact that love is true

And as I gaze into the night

Determining again that things are right

I notice stars up in the skies

Bright like your adoring eyes

That God and love wear no disguise

Both are real and great you see
